Kid Condo is a Melbourne label that fuses streetwear and statement pieces. The designer behind the brand is interested in blending two personalities, chill and not so chill. And is inspired by her younger years growing up surrounded by her Italian heritage, music and everyday people.

Kid Condo aims to cook up some effortless, timeless and tasty pieces for her alike community to enjoy and wear.

The designer behind Kid Condo had always been hesitant to even start a brand – due to the saturation in the market. However, after not finding the right fits, colourways, shapes and fabrics she thought she would design them not only for herself, but for the likeminded. At Kid Condo we try be as sustainable as possible.

What we do?

1. Limited small runs of stock – ensuring stock will be sold through

2. Making great quality garments that people will wear season after season instead of one wear

3. Making one off custom and statement pieces for people to invest and adore

4. Kid Condo aims in future to look into the pre-order system to ensure less waste and also aims to start a fabric dead stock collection to reduce new fabric and ensure existing fabrics are being used

5. Once samples have been approved Kid Condo stock is transported by boat instead of air to reduce carbon footprint

6. Branding and packaging is not Kid Condos priority focus. We will promise consumers a good quality garment. But you will not get all the fluff with it – no branded bags no swig tags. You will receive you order in a compostable postage bag and with each purchase you will receive a sticker.

7. Lastly, we encourage customers to look after their garments and make a connection with them. Please follow care labels instructions for longer living garments.

Kid Condo is designed in Melbourne and to be made in Melbourne was always the goal for the brand. Having found the perfect local pattern maker and factory seemed like Kid Condo was one step closer to achieving this goal. However, hurdles were met when trying to find the right quality fabric for Kid Condo designs. Quality is number one priority for Kid Condo, pieces must be adored by customers and kept in their rotating wardrobes for years to come – this is not a fast fashion label. Due to this, Kid Condo is still designed, pattern-made and screen printed in Melbourne but has branched out and has been working with an ethical manufacturing factory in China. Kid Condo works very closely with factory manager Jamie, where they talk on a weekly basis to ensure all product specifications are being met. The factory meets requirements of expectations of suppliers: Labour and Social Responsibility being: Child Labour, Forced Labour, Working Hours, Wages and Benefits, Fair and Equal Treatment, Freedom of Association, Subcontracting, Health and Safety.

All custom pieces and mini collections for rent are made right here in Melborune in Kid Condo’s studio. Mini collections include one off performance pieces made so talent can hire instead of purchasing for their one off film clips and photoshoots. Kid Condo believes that some pieces should not be mass produced, but limited to reduce waste.

Kid Condo’s aim is to keep garments and accessories locally made where it can be. One of our priorities is to also collaborate with local graphic designers, screen printers and other creatives.
